What Omxus is

Press for help, and the people nearby come. Omxus is that emergency network, plus the identity, vouching and voting that run it, held by the people who use it, not by a company or a government.

Everything a developer touches here exists to make that possible: knowing someone is a real person, without anyone owning their identity.

The idea in four parts

1. You hold your identity. An Omxus identity is a key made on your own device, from a passkey or from your name, birth date and secret words. No password, no central list of users. Every site you sign in to sees a different you, so sites can't compare notes. How identity is derived

2. Three people vouch that you are one real human. People who have met you in person sign for you. With three vouches you are verified, and you can hold one token that can't be bought, sold or taken: one human, one token. Vouching

3. One human, one vote. Because each person is verified once, a vote can count each person once, without a company or the state checking ID. voteaussie.com is the first: three people vouch for you, then you vote.

4. The safety network. Press for help and nearby members hear it at once; the nearest respond. Alerting the people nearby already saves lives (GoodSAM, PulsePoint). Omxus adds identity people trust and no owner in the middle. omxus.org tells that story.
